Todd Pezzi, MD, MBA
Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Todd Pezzi developed an interest in oncology at a young age, inspired by the impact cancer had on his own family. Passionate about advancing cancer care through innovative treatments, Dr. Pezzi combines his expertise in radiation therapy with the latest technologies to offer patients at both Southwest Florida Proton and Advocate Radiation Oncology personalized, effective care options. His approach centers on providing the highest standard of care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.
Dr. Pezzi earned his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and then obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, he received his MBA at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business and began his medical career with a year of residency in internal medicine. He completed his radiation oncology residency at the prestigious University of Texas MD Anderson Center, where he published nearly 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading oncology journals. It was at MD Anderson where he initially was trained in proton therapy.
He has knowledge and expertise to treat all types of cancers and solid tumors with traditional radiation (IMRT/IGRT/VMAT) and proton therapy (IMPT), however he has an interest in prostate cancer. He has treated thousands of patients in his career with radiation therapy for prostate cancer with both proton radiation as well as traditional radiation, and uses all of the most modern and advanced techniques available to ensure every patient is receiving a world-class radiation protocol, to maximize the chance of not only long term cancer control, but also minimizing the risk of short and long term side effects. He works closely with all the local physicians who treat prostate and other types of cancer.
In his free time, Dr. Pezzi enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs. He is an avid traveler, a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan, and loves exploring local restaurants and restoring vintage cars.
