Bruce M Nakfoor, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who has made it his personal mission to elevate the standard of cancer care available to the community of Naples. Highly respected by his peers and patients alike, his 30-year practice has been shaped by his boundless compassion, selfless contributions, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

He founded Inspire Oncology to provide world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate cancer care close to home. His research into exercise and nutrition as viable medical treatments is extensive. Inspired by the potential of longer, better lives for his patients, Dr. Nakfoor has pioneered a new approach to cancer care with the subsequent founding of Inspire Exercise Medicine. As Inspire’s clinical provider of medically prescribed and medically supervised exercise and nutrition programs, the practice is making a difference in the lives of patients.

Dr. Nakfoor’s medical training is unparalleled. He completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, the largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, where he served as chief resident. He has spoken at multiple national and international cancer conferences and has published over a dozen peer-reviewed cancer research papers. My experience with Inspire Oncology has been exceptional. Dr. Nakfoor and his entire team’s dedication to the care of their patients is evident the minute you interact with them. In my case, Dr. Nakfoor was on vacation when my Oncologist, Dr. Mark Rubin, asked him to review my case. We met the next day and he had thoroughly reviewed my records in preparation for this appointment. Within two days, Drs. Nakfoor and my Oncologist reviewed my case and proposed treatment plan with a leading Oncologist at Mass General to elicit a second opinion prior to my treatment commencing. I recently reviewed the post treatment results with Dr. Nakfoor. The detail and amount of time spent to cover everything was comforting and greatly appreciated. (Yes, they actually read it) All the details that could be addressed were taken care before meeting the doctor. FIRST . . . The first, last, and everything in between experiences will be my ultimate rating and posting.

This was my FIRST visit (experience) to INSPIRE ONCOLOGY. It was good and quick, perhaps, too, quick.

Why? Great question.

A patient is the ultimate customer and regardless of the diagnosis the patient must be handled with compassion and given the time to talk and ask questions. After all, medicine is not a “fast food” service.

From what I have experienced, Dr. Kerwin and staff are professional and friendly. I look forward to working with them to provide a remedy/cure to what I am confronted with.

I have completed 5 of 6 weeks radiation. And now I am in a completely hostile environment. There was some gap in communication between the diagnosis and the treatment. I do not know where. But the focus of the radiation treatment was not at the site of the cancer lesion. It took persistence on my part to get it corrected. The Dr.finally went into the treatment room and moved the table as well as readjusted the position of the Ray.
Now when I go to the daily treatment the techs scold me and tell me that I am not putting the mask on correctly. Or I am moving my nose! Or my head is the wrong angle!
I swear I have no ounce of blame or ill feelings toward anyone. I just want it done right. If this isn't effective I will have to have extensive surgery on the middle of my face. No one wants that!
Simple respect. Stop the hostility. I'm a human being dealing with an issue that is not a small thing.

My wife required radiation treatments following her chemo. She had a bad outcome from the chemo and we felt like we didn't have good direction or understanding of why she had such an adverse reaction to the chemo, but moved forward to get the radiation treatments as prescribed.

We met Dr. Nakfoor and I was immediately struck by how sincerely concerned he was as we discussed my wife's experiences and our uncertainty surrounding the issues she had resulting from the chemo.

Dr. Nakfoor was on the Internet researching as we talked and offered to reach out to an associate that is an expert in the area of cancer she had. I believe that he was sincerely concerned and went above and beyond his responsibility as a radiation oncologist to help us understand and to guide us going forward.

With another unexpected setback that was unrelated to the radiation treatments, he again expressed his concerns and proactively worked to be certain that she was receiving the best possible care and medication to help her recover.

Naples is fortunate to have Dr. Nakfoor here and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing radiation treatments. THANK YOU, Dr. Nakfoor!!

The service we received was good and most appointments were on time. Beware of their billing practices. Unlike most providers in the Naples area Inspire had an exemption whereby they could bill us for a portion of the amounts unpaid by my PPO. My wife had 5 treatments for which the bill was around $33,000.00. The PPO paid approximately $27.000 and Inspire is seeking around $1,700.00 from her. This was never explained to us prior to treatment and did not give us a chance to seek other providers which may not have this policy.

Diagnosed with HPV related P16 positive cancer at the base of my tongue December 2022, I was left with choosing treatment options. When I met Dr. Tim Kerwin and saw the facility, including the happy fellow patients in the waiting room, there was no question. I did my 7 weeks and every day was a pleasure made possible by the wonderful staff. I’ve just had my 6 month PET CT and am free of any signs of recurrence. It could not have been a more positive experience, considering why I needed to be there. I was very grateful for the care that I received there. I was given much information about the procedures and activities surrounding my radiation treatments. The staff was courteous and comforting during a very frightening experience for me. My doctor was thorough in explanations, and he was very personable. What I wasn’t prepared for was what the after effects of radiation might do to me. I wasn’t prepared for was the awful condition my skin developed. It was burned, itchy and broken out beyond belief. I used ice the first night, but when I spoke with the technician the next day, she said absolutely no ice. The recommended creams provided no help. I feel I should have been better prepared for what I experienced in the way of pain. I hardly slept for several nights. I went through several creams before I got relief from a prescription from the radiologist-silvadene.
Also, the first weekend when I was hurting so badly, I called the number given to me. No one returned my call.

I was always greeted at the front desk with a smile and ready to offer assistance I may need. The technicians working with me each visit made me feel like i was their only patient. And of course, Dr Hanus, was always ready to spend as much time time with me as I may have required - I never felt rushed and received all answers (good or bad) very thoroughly which I appreciated.
